Fall is upon us and the weather is changing. As temperatures continue to drop and more rain enters the forecast, be sure your personnel and machines are ready.
Keep in mind:
- Wetter Conditions: Be aware of slippery conditions on docks, warehouse floors, and condensation on your forklift.
- Stay Healthy: Lifts can generate high levels of carbon monoxide that accumulates in enclosed spaces so be sure workspaces are properly ventilated. Employees should dress in layers and be more conscious of when they need breaks or need to warm up.
- Machine Maintenance: Cooler weather means harder starts for your machines. Be sure to properly insulate your machines and keep an eye on oil levels and consistency.
In addition, as conditions become wetter and cooler, make sure your machine’s tires aren’t worn or crumbling. Roadrunner Rubber’s fiberglass cushion press-on tires with our unique “s-pattern” traction design will provide more grip and hold up better in tougher conditions.
